An NDIS plan management provider is a company or organisation that assists participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in managing their NDIS plans. The NDIS is a government-funded scheme in Australia that provides support to people with disabilities, including funding for various services and supports tailored to their individual needs.
NDIS plan management involves tasks such as paying invoices for services, keeping track of funds, providing financial reporting, and offering guidance and support to participants in navigating their plans. Plan management providers offer these services to help participants effectively utilise their NDIS funding and access the support they require. They act as intermediaries between participants, service providers, and the NDIS, ensuring that the funding allocated to each participant is used appropriately and efficiently to meet their goals and needs.
Is Plan Management included in my NDIS Plan?
Plan Management is available to all NDIS participants – simply check that you have ‘Choice and Control’ within your plan. If you do, then you are ready to get started!
If you don’t, then you can request this by calling the NDIA on 1800 800 110 and request a plan variation to include ‘Choice and Control’ so you can engage a plan manager. See how in our Helpful Resources.

FAQS
Check your plan to see if ‘Choice and Control’ is included. If yes, then you are immediately able to engage a Plan Manager and can reach out to us.
If you do not have this option, and you wish to add Plan Management, then the best thing to do is contact NDIS directly on 1800 800 110 and simply request a variation to include Plan Management.
It’s really that simple!
Follow the steps below to download your NDIS Plan through the MyGov Portal.
Your NDIS plan can be found through the MyGov website: www.my.gov.au/en
Log into the MyGov website and select National Disability Insurance Scheme, selected from the Your Services button.
If you are the participant, select Myself from the drop-down menu, located at the top right of the page. OR if you are the nominee, select the NDIS participant’s name from the drop-down menu.
If you are the participant, click on My Plan. OR if you are the nominee, you will see the participant’s name in the box instead.
The next page will have a box called View My Plan for participants. OR View Tom’s Plan for nominees. Ensure you click on this box.
You will then be on the View My Plan page, and this is where you need to make sure you are viewing the correct plan. If you have more than one plan, be sure you select the right one from the dropdown menu.
When the plan is loaded, click the top right button called Print this Plan to PDF and your plan will open automatically in a new window. From there you can either download, save or print your plan.
You can view the NDIS guide to funding here: https://ourguidelines.ndis.gov.au/would-we-fund-it

It is important to have an idea of what your funding can be used for. You can speak to us, or you can click this link, to find out more: What does NDIS fund? | NDIS
The NDIS website is full of valuable and useful information when it comes to accessing the right support.

Simply send your service provider invoices directly to your plan manager here at Active Accountants, who will then be able to claim for you via the portal, based on the funding specified in that category and the budget that has been approved within your plan.
Your service providers invoices must meet the guidelines of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the NDIS.
